Tokyo governor Shintaro Ishihara is well known in Japan for being very outspoken and has publicly expressed some racist views in the past. All one needs to do his punch is name into Google for quick links to articles that document this. This time, the Tokyo governor is in the spotlight for his remarks about Africans in Tokyo. The fact that the ruling Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) offered to support him in the next gubanatorial election is somewhat disturbing.
